General Rules

  • Children, youth and adults from Sumter, Lee, and Clarendon & Kershaw Counties may enter individual or group exhibits in the Sumter County Fair.
  • Military Personnel & dependents with ID will be admitted at student rates for the entire week.
  • The hours of the Midway and Exhibits are shown in the Schedule of Events. The scheduled hours of operation may vary 1 hour earlier or 1 hour later at the discretion of the Fair officials.
  • All midway vehicles, campers, etc., which are used as living quarters, must be parked in the trailer park area on the southwest corner of the fairgrounds.
  • No animals will be permitted on the fairgrounds. Animals owned by midway personnel will only be allowed in the midway trailer park areas, must be on a leash, and only if they show an up-to-date rabies vaccination certificate. The Sumter County Health Department has authority to remove loose dogs and cats.
  • No solicitation, sale of products in the Exhibit Area or passing out of literature not pertaining to exhibits will be allowed except with prior permission from the Fair Manager.
  • No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the fairgrounds.
  • NO SMOKING areas are strictly enforced.
  • The Sumter County Fair Association, its Fair committee, community leaders, cooperating agencies, organizations, clubs and other individuals reserve the right to be held harmless and not responsible in any way in case of any damage, fire or accident as to persons, lost articles, livestock, etc., entered and/or exhibited or any accidents that might occur to the general public while visiting on the grounds at any time of the Fair.
  • Neither the Sumter County Fair Association, nor any of its sponsors assume any responsibility or liability to any person, animal or article on exhibit at any time while on fairground property. This applies to exhibitors and to the public-at-large.
